José Duclos holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University. Since 1990, in addition to working in her own studio, she has been teaching drawing and watercolour at several locations including the Visual Arts Centre and the Montréal Botanical Garden.
At the Symposium du Kamouraska, an event she has taken part in since 1997, she received a prize for the originality of her work in 2003. In 2004 she won the public’s choice award and in 2006 she was honoured with the first prize for watercolour. She has been a member of RAAV (Regroupement des artistes en art visual) since 1996..
